Hospital violence in Vietnam on the rise
Violence in hospitals is on the rise across the world and Vietnam like India is no exception. A local newspaper published from Hanoi reported a brutal attack on a doctor when he advised shifting a female patient to another hospital.

The distraught father not getting immediate help for shifting the young daughter attacked the doctor with a sheet of glass and the bleeding doctor had to get a few stitches on the head. There are also complaints about doctors taking 'envelops' or bribes to provide services.

The news story also talked about the rise of attacks on doctors, nurses and other medical staff in the United States.

In India, there have been numerous instances of attacks on doctors and hospital staff going on strikes for demanding security for medical workers.

The basic fact is that health services need to be made fair and doctors too need to be monitored well. Negligence of duty and bad behaviour of the relatives of the patients should be equally punishable. There has to be zero tolerance towards breach of hospital rules and regulations.
