India clinches T20I series against England with an emphatic win in the final match
The 3rd and final match of the T20I series against England, played at the County Ground in Bristol on Sunday, appeared to be a one-sided affair. Since England had put up a score of 198 on the scoreboard, the asking rate for India was around 10 runs per over. Quite a difficult one on the pitches of England.

In fact, the English batsmen were playing the Indian bowling attack so comfortably that at one time it looked that they would set a target of at least 220 or more. But the Indian bowlers made a strong comeback.

The Indians had a reasonable start while chasing the total. Even falling of the wickets of Dhawan (5) and KL Rahul (19) rather proved helpful for Team India. Every Tom, Dick and Harry of the game knew this jolly well that if at all anyone could take up this challenging total, it would have to be the sensational pair of Rohit Sharma and the vibrant Virat Kohli.

Until the 10th over, the chances were seemingly not very bright for India and it appeared that the match will become a thrilling encounter and go down to the wire. But then, perhaps realising their responsibility, both the batsmen pushed the throttle and by the time the match had reached the 13th over, Team India was already ahead by 9 runs in comparison to England.

However, after 14.5 overs, Virat Kohli lost his wicket after scoring a valuable 43 runs out of 29 balls. Then came Pandya, the best possible option under the given scenario. India needed 48 runs from 30 balls after 15 overs. The pair of Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma carried India home thereafter. They ensured that the required rate was under control by hitting boundaries intermittently. Rohit Sharma made a great century and carried India home, winning the series by 2-1.

Coincidentally, from the year 2016 to 2018, Team India has played seven three- match T20I series and won all of them.
