Punjab's airplane restaurant called `Hawai Adda'
In the heartland of Punjab, near the bustling industrial city of Ludhiana, an entrepreneur has come up with a unique concept by transforming an Air India Airbus A320 aircraft into a fancy restaurant named `Hawai Adda'.

Parked at the Verka Milk Bar on the Ferozepur Road, this airplane-themed restaurant only serves vegetarian food. Apart from serving a lavish spread for main course, the food joint also serves as a cafe and bakery along with a separate hall for organizing kitty parties.

After opening its doors in December last year, the place has already become a rage with Punjabi folks.

Earlier, the project had run into trouble as the authorities were unsure over allowing an aircraft to be classified as a new building. The fire safety wing too took a considerable amount of time in issuing a no-objection certificate, causing a lot of controversy.

The aircraft was transported to its current location from Delhi in four trucks. The plane which was originally 180-seater was made roomier by reducing the seating capacity to 65. The swanky restaurant already has a 4.5 rating on its Facebook page.

The plane is parked on the land which Kulwant Singh has acquired on a lease of Rs 1 lakh per month. However, Kulwant's cousin and managing partner, Jaswinder Singh, does not want to disclose how much it cost to embellish the place. So, for all you foodies looking for a unique dining experience, visit Hawai Adda. Bon appetit!
