Some interesting facts about Sania Mirza on her 29th Birthday
Indian Tennis Star and sensation Sania Mirza is celebrating her 29th Birthday today. She has represented our nation in various top class tennis events and made the nation proud. She became the first Indian women tennis player in history to reach the top ranking in any category.

Today on her birthday we present a few facts about the 29-year-old which you probably don't know:

·         Sania Mirza started playing tennis at the age of six at Hyderabad's Nizam Club. Her first coach was none other than her own father Imran Mirza.

·         She turned into a professional tennis player in 2003 and then she was coached by Roger Anderson, a tennis player from the United States of America.

·         Sania considers Steffi Graf and Roger Federer as her Tennis idols.

·         She had a huge crush on Russian Tennis Star Marat Safin.

·         She played her first international tournament in 1999 at the World Junior Championship at Jakarta.

·         She got a big break in 2002 when Leander Paes took her as a mixed doubles partner at the Asian Games. Both of them won bronze medals.

·         Sania became the first Indian to win a Women Tennis Association (WTA) title. She was also ranked the India's number one Tennis player by WTA.

·         With her admirable beauty and charm, she is one of the most beautiful and gorgeous sports women. 

·         She is the first India tennis player to make more than USD 1 million.

·         Though she is now married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, she had relations with former cricket captain Ghulam Ahmed of India and Asif Iqbal of Pakistan. She also got engaged to her childhood friend Sohrab Mirza, but the alliance soon felt apart.

·         She was the most searched tennis star on Google, and hence was named heroes of Asia by Time in 2005. She was also listed as one of 'the 33 women who made India proud' by the Economic Times in 2010.               

·         In 2014 some conservative Muslim groups raised a Fatwa against Sania over her dressing in Tennis Courts. After that Sania vowed never to play in India again.
