VIVO IPL 2018 match preview: Eliminator - KKR vs RR
The Eden Gardens plays host to the eliminator, a virtual quaterfinal game between Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday night. While the loser would be knocked out of the tournament, the winner will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on Friday.

Ahead of today's match while KKR are upbeat after having beaten SRH on Saturday, Royals find themselves at a disadvantage with their two key English players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes missing as they have headed back home for national duty. RR won't miss Stokes too much as he's hardly lived up to the tag of being the costliest player of this IPL season. However, Jos Buttler on the other hand has been a revelation and a mainstay for the batting of Royals.

Rain could play spoilsport today with forecast of rain. In fact, on Tuesday, both teams were compelled to stay indoors after their practice sessions were cancelled owing to thundershowers.

As per weather reports, there is 51 per cent possibility of rain in Kolkata till 1 pm today and later in the evening as well. In case the match is called off, RR will be knocked out and KKR will proceed further as they are ahead of RR in the points table. KKR will then meet SRH in Qualifier 2 on Friday.

KKR have not only beaten the Royals twice in this IPL season but are also on a three-match winning run which gave them a third place on the points table. Rajasthan Royals on the other hand just made it to the Playoffs narrowly by winning four out of their last five matches, finishing fourth on the IPL points table.

Two-time IPL champions KKR have qualified for the Playoffs for the sixth time while the Rajasthan Royals who returned to IPL this year after a two-year ban have won the title only once. Thus KKR have the upper hand in virtually all the departments of the game today, be it experience or the ability to handle pressure.
