Wishing you a funny New Year!
The year 2015 is gradually drawing to a close and 2016 is just round the corner. With the markets upbeat and ongoing preparations, the countdown of the days for the New Year Eve has already started.

The party lovers and revelers have already planned for the New Year Eve Night where they will shout, "Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Happy New Year!!" to break into frenzy of merry making.

Over the years, the market forces and event managers have taken over the New Year celebrations. The traditions of the New Year Eve and New Year Day include numerous gatherings - celebrating the advent of yet another year with good wishes, greetings, messages and resolutions for the New Year. With the New Year, one can make a fresh beginning, I believe.

New Year Eve parties require funny quotes to enliven them. Here are some such quotes:

"New Year is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions." - Mark Twain

"Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self-assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and, ultimately, reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle." - Eric Zorn

"A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other." - Anonymous

"New Year's Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual." - Mark Twain

"An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves." - Bill Vaughan

"New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time." - James Agate

"My new year's resolution is to be more optimistic by keeping my cup half-full with rum, vodka, or whiskey." - Anonymous

"May the New Year bring you significantly more joy than the holidays did." - Anonymous
